Counting!

Ben can count to 2! I'm not sure if he know what 1 and 2 actually are, but he says "wan tu". We took Casey to the vet (to see if his peeing outside of the litter box is a urinary tract infection.. its not!) and the room was covered in cat wallpaper ... so we got "wan tu" the whole time waiting for the vet to come in!!!

Here's an old picture

Mon Jul 28th

A long day today. Ben woke up at 5.30am.
After a "leisurely" breakfast we cleaned a bit, then biked to the post office to post a letter. "Po po po po"

A little nap, then went to check out a new place for the playgroup, a nursery room in a church thats done up like a barn, really really good, the kids are going to love it, Ben enjoyed it today & then a swimming lesson in Goshen. Ben wanted the "ba ba ba ba" (ball) really bad although that wasnt part of the class, but he enjoyed jumping in the water anyway.
Home and a reasonably early night. Here's hoping for a long lie tomorrow!
(No pics today so this is an old one)

Blueberry picking

Went blueberry picking this morning with the playgroup. It was fun! Alot easier than strawberries and the fruit is really good. Ben picked a couple then spent the rest of the morning complaing if any of the other kids put blueberries into our bucket or picked them out, or just carrying the bucket around, quite impressive he never actually spilled them.

Shopping bags

So we get home from the supermarket, I put all the stuff away and put the empty bags in the cupboard and go through to the office to check my email. I hear the sliding glass door open and Ben go outside, I come back through to see what he's doing and he's looking for something on the patio, so I leave him and go back to the office. Next thing I hear him come back inside and hear the cupboard door open. By the time I get back through to the living room the game is in process...

Elkhart County Fair

Went to the County Fair yesterday with the playgroup.
Ben does the noise for horse, cow, sheep, goat (he coughs), pig (through his nose), rabbit and chickens (sometimes). For a turtle he'll point to his back (the shell), and maybe do the eat sign (he remembers the one he saw eating a worm at the park).
He got to eat some mini donuts and loved them, got quite upset when i ignored his frantic more signs!!!

Monday 21st July

No pics today i'm afraid.
In the afternoon we went for a walk around the church - until now he's always taken either his lawnmower or his little toy buggy, today he wanted to ride his trike. So we took it and he did great. I love seeing his little feet padding speedily along the ground (his feet still arent quite reaching the pedals). He had fun bumping up and down the curb. And he went and touched the rod thing that he calls a snake and wasnt scared of it so hopefully all my telling him that snakes arent scary is working ... either that or he's sussed out that it isnt a real snake!!!

Haircut

The first official haircut! What do you think?

Golf

Talking is over-rated. A good golf swing is really a much better indicator of future life success.

Another day at the beach

Ben's bike seat

So this little gadget is making the summer fantastic - we bike to the supermarket to get a "pint of milk", we bike to the park, we even biked to Ben's expensive hair cut ... feels like we're in a positively large city, or something!
